Need to buy or sell fresh produce across borders?
International produce trade combines a perishable product with long transit times, different quality standards at each end, and payment terms that expose one side or the other.
Buyers need confidence in what will arrive. Suppliers need confidence they will be paid. Both need someone who understands the product and the paperwork.
How Frutta Group helps
We coordinate sales programs, pricing, logistics flows, payment structures and collections between growers and their customers. Depending on the program, we act as the commercial intermediary or trade the fruit ourselves, buying at origin and selling to the destination customer.
Either way, the aim is the same: a transparent relationship between producer and customer, with clear terms and someone accountable for making each shipment work.
Commercial structures we use
Fresh produce is traded on several pricing bases: fixed price agreed before shipment, minimum guarantee with a share of the upside, and consignment where the grower bears market risk. Each allocates risk differently. We help both sides choose the structure that matches the product, the market and the relationship.
Payment terms are the other half of the deal. Advance payments, documentary collections and open account terms each carry different levels of exposure. The right choice depends on the history between the parties and the documents that control the goods.
Documents and control
In international fruit trade, whoever holds the documents controls the cargo. Bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, phytosanitary certificates and certificates of origin must match each other and the commercial agreement. Where we trade as principal, we manage the document flow between origin and destination so that each party sees what it should, and the goods are released only against agreed terms.

Explore a commercial opportunityFrequently asked questions
Is Frutta Group a broker or a trader?
Both models are possible. On some programs we act as a commercial intermediary between grower and customer; on others we buy the fruit and resell it. We agree the structure with each partner at the start so responsibilities are clear.
Which markets do you trade into?
We manage programs for North America, the European Union and the United Kingdom, the Middle East, India and Latin America. We also evaluate opportunities in other markets on a case-by-case basis.
Do you trade by sea, air or road?
Mode depends on product and route. Most programs move in reefer containers by sea; some routes, such as within Europe and neighbouring regions, move by truck.
What happens if fruit arrives below specification?
Arrival quality is assessed against the agreed specification, usually supported by an independent survey. The agreement should define in advance how claims are raised and settled; we coordinate that process between the parties.
